Advanced Stabilizer Rolls for Continuous Hot-Dip Galvanizing Lines (CGL)

Product Overview

In high-speed Continuous Hot-Dip Galvanizing Lines (CGL) and Galvanume Lines (CGL-AlZn), controlling strip flutter and shape defects is paramount to achieving a uniform zinc coating. Engineered to operate submerged in the aggressive 450℃ - 480℃ molten zinc bath, our High-Precision Stabilizer Rolls deliver exceptional stability and flatness to the steel strip just before it enters the air knife system.

By establishing a rigid, vibration-free tracking path, our stabilizer rolls enable precise air knife optimization, drastically minimizing coating thickness deviations and preventing surface defects—making them indispensable for the production of premium automotive exposed panels and high-end home appliance sheets.

Technical Edge & Key Advantages

1. State-of-the-Art HVOF Cermet Coating

Directly exposed to molten zinc, the roll surface is protected by advanced HVOF (High-Velocity Oxygen-Fuel) Thermal Spraying with proprietary WC-Co-Cr (Tungsten Carbide) or Mo-B (Molybdenum Boride) ceramic matrix composites.

  • Surface Hardness: ≥HV1000

  • Bonding Strength: ≥70MPa

  • Benefit: Exceptional resistance to liquid metal corrosion, preventing zinc dross accumulation (Zinc Pick-up) and eliminating strip micro-scratching.

2. Premium Centrifugal Casting Structure

The roll shells are manufactured via high-purity Centrifugal Casting using ultra-low carbon, low-silicon Austenitic Stainless Steel, e.g., 316L, 317L, 1.4404) or cobalt/nickel-based superalloys. This ensures a dense, homogeneous microstructure free of porosity, blowholes, and residual stresses, eliminating thermal warping under long-term high-temperature operations.

3. Heavy-Duty Wear-Resistant Journal Technology

To combat the unlubricated, abrasive environment of the zinc pot, the roll journals feature Stellite alloy cladding or integrated advanced engineering ceramic sleeves. This drastically lowers the friction coefficient against the arm bushings, extending the pot campaign life and minimizing maintenance downtime.

4. Precision Dynamic Balancing & Geometry

Every roll is 100% dynamically balanced according to ISO 1940 Grade G2.5 / G1.0 standards. Combined with a strict geometric tolerance control ($le$ 0.02mm for total run-out and cylindricity), our rolls completely suppress resonance at line speeds up to 200 m/min.
